Importance of commitment and dedication as a Yoga Teacher?
I believe that any teacher, of any subject has a great commitment and dedication to respect, but overall a yoga teacher about who we are specifically talking about in the following text. Starting with the commitment of the yoga teacher, I believe it to be towards a) the discipline and/or subjects, and b) the student(s). In regards to point a), the discipline or subject: I understand it to be almost like a vow that one gives towards the discipline, in this case the Yoga teacher towards Yoga. Once one has decided to teach this ancient discipline there should be a respect towards its guideline and traditions, as these define the true discipline. These guidelines and traditions can be studied through respected scriptures and publications, but overall and most importantly they should be learned and understood through an experienced and trusted teachers of this discipline.
